I think we’re onto something.

Dear Hearts,

Worried about the destruction of the rain forest? Me too. But you can strike a blow for biological diversity do something about climate change right here at home on your own land.

This magazine is about the people who are doing just that. They’re bringing back the prairies. They’re reconstructing wetlands. They’re clearing overgrown savannas and watching the wildflowers and Red-headed woodpeckers return. Instead of mowing, fertilizing and watering large lawns, they’re putting in wildlife friendly deep-rooted native perennials.

They're leading a quiet revolution in land management in this age of global warming and imperiled natural resources. They're taking cues from the CO-2 absorbing, resource-conserving native plant communities that evolved over thousands of years. Some are using these same ecological principles to produce healthy food from healthy land.

Joins us, won’t you. I think we’re onto something.
